Drag Racing: Bike Edition is another adaptation of the drag racing games, with bikes as the vehicles of choice this time around. Developed for Android smartphones and other devices, Drag Racing: Bike Edition is simple to play and a convenient way to pass some time. Although it's a fairly simple game, the upgrades to the bikes and their resultant capabilities will keep you playing until you have to stop.

Quality of Graphics

Your races will be taking place in the great city of New York, and the Statue of Liberty is well displayed. The graphics in this game are medium quality, but they are clear and sharp. In one of the transition screens, there is a panoramic view of New York City skyscrapers and the Statue of Liberty. The image of the statue is so clear that you can actually read a couple of words on the tablet she's holding!

Picking Your Bike

Like most games like this, you're stuck with a pretty basic bike, unless you earn points by watching ads, winning races or purchasing one. But the regular bike is good enough to get started and the new bikes can easily be bought by watching a couple of ads. You can purchase extra currency through in-app purchases. You can also upgrade your bike by purchasing superior engine parts.

The Race

You get to race against one other rider, drag-racing style. You can clearly see both riders on the screen at all times, and there is also a monitoring display at the top of the screen. Two different-colored dots identify you and your rider on the monitor, and you can easily see who is ahead and likely to win. You can challenge other online players and they can challenge you.

Speed and Shift

To start the race, one touch of the handle-bar brake control on the right of the screen is all it takes. When the street light in front of both bikers turns green, you can both take off. The gear shift also acts as speed control. The plus sign at the top of the gear shift is convenient. You press and hold for speed and release and press to shift gears. It mimics the sensation of actually changing gears very well and it makes riding fun. The races only last a couple of minutes, making this a convenient game for killing time.
